Now this kit is a great option for you, because it has everything that you need in order to place one side of your axle brakes. You'll have a brand new rotor and hub assembly, a brand new loaded caliper, with your brake pads, and one thing that sets this apart from others is that this kit does come with new bearings and a seal, but it also comes with this bearing buddy here. Just take this cap off, and then this bearing buddy will force grease into your bearings so they're continuously greased as you're driving down the road, and that'll help reduce friction and heat and extend the service life between having to grease bearings.Now these brakes have a 7000 pound capacity, and they'll work with 7000 pound axles that have a five bolt mounting flange on them. more

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the 10 inch Dexter Never Adjust electric trailer brake kit, for 3,500 pound axle, for the left and right hand side. It's going to be part number 23-468-469. It's also available individually for the left hand side using part number 23-468, and the right hand side, using part number 23-469. So here's what our brakes are going to look like once we have them installed. Now these are going to be a 10 inch diameter brake and be about 2-1/4 inches deep.Now one of the nicest things about these brakes is the fact that we're not going to have to adjust them, maybe the initial adjustment up front, but after that, they're going to be self adjusting. So wherever the brakes start wearing down, they're going to automatically adjust out, so they're at the right pressure. more

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the hydraulic brake kit U-Servo 00:00:02 free backing 12 inch left and right hand brake assemblies for five and a half thousand to seven thousand pounds. That's gonna be part number AKFBBRK-7.So here's what our brake assembly's gonna look like. The biggest benefit to our brake assembly here is that it is an entire assembly. We're not gonna have to worry about getting the hardware kit, a wheel cylinder, or anything else. As well as putting on the pads, they are hydraulic brake assemblies, which means they're gonna work with surge-type brake actuators.What's nice about these assemblies is that they have a free backing design. And what that means is, it's gonna let you back up without engaging the brakes, even if the actuator is activated.The fall-away brake shoe is only gonna anchor on the drum when the brakes are engaged, as the trailer is moving forward.The pads are gonna be fully bonded into the shoes and not riveted, which means that they're gonna give it a longer life and more of a bite on those brakes.The tapered edge at the bottom of our pad is gonna help prevent any kind of cracking and crumbling that can lead to a mechanical lock-up.Our brake assemblies are gonna have a fine tooth adjustment gear, and that's gonna allow us to fine tune our brakes, but it is a manual adjustment, so we are gonna have to check our brakes and adjust them periodically.There is gonna be a plug on the back that's gonna help keep out all the dirt and debris from getting inside, and this is right where we're gonna make our adjustments at.Now, the mounting flange bolt pattern is gonna be a five bolt, and it's gonna fit wheels 14 1/2, 15, 16, and 16 1/2 inch.Our brake assembly is gonna work with axles that are rated at 5,200, 6,000, and 7,000 pounds.Now, this is gonna include the left and right hand assemblies, so to start out, we're gonna go ahead and remove our drums so we can pull off this cap. more

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna be taking a look at the self adjusting 12 and one quarter inch diameter electric trailer brake kit with dust shields for both the left and right hand side for 10,000 pound axles, part number AKEBRK-10. Here's what our brakes are gonna look like, now the really nice things about this set is the fact that it's gonna be a complete unit, we're not gonna have to worry about replacing springs or individual pieces, it's just gonna be a simple bolt on design.Our brakes our a self adjusting design which means that once we have them set initially we're not gonna have to crawl underneath our trailer and mess with adjusting the brakes because they're gonna do it for us, which is really a nice thing because it's one less thing that we have to worry about. The way we're gonna make our initial adjustment is gonna be at the plug back here, it's gonna keep all that dirt and debris out from the inside of our brakes, we're gonna have a fine toothed gear to get our brakes set how we like them and set the initial tension.Our pads are gonna be bonded, not riveted, so we're not gonna have to worry about those rivets gouging into our drums and we're gonna have a nice tapered edge that's machine cut rather than snapped off so we don't have to worry about any kind of chipping or breaking on the edges here which is gonna give us more braking torque and give us a long lasting brake pad. Our brake assemblies are gonna be a 12 and one quarter inch diameter and they're gonna be three and three-eights inches wide. They do have a seven bolt mounting flange so make sure to check your trailer and make sure they'll match up and they are designed to work with 10,000 pound axles. Now, these assemblies happen to be a free backing design and this will let you reverse without your trailer brakes being activated. Basically, the hydraulic pressure is contained by the wheel cylinder, so basically when you begin backing up in reverse, the brake shoes are firm against the drum as in a braking. We're going to take it out on our test course and show you what the trailer is like without having brakes on it and with having brakes on it, and you can see how big the difference is.When it's going down the road without trailer brakes you can see that there is nothing helping slow down the trailer. It's actually pushing your vehicle along. With brakes on it you can see how the trailer's tires are actually slowing down and not pushing the vehicle towing it. more
